OUR AMAZING THEATRE CLASSES:

……………………….

Theatre Level 1 - Students in our level 1 theatre class have just finished initial introductions and are jumping head first into both ensemble work and solo work. These students are going to begin their journey with monologues, working hard to memorize, rehearse, and perform their pieces in front of their classes.

Theatre Level 2 - Those who are in level 2 are excited to start with learning about the theatre of many different cultures and the historical significance behind the theatre they perform.

Theatre Level 3 Honors - The theatre 3 students began the year practicing cold reads and learning about other rehearsal and callback skills. Soon these students will be diving into the beauty, intensity, and intelligence of mask work. This is about a two month process that consists of exploring the true physicality of performance while the actor’s face is covered by a mask. Which alters the parts of their bodies that these students are able to express emotion through while performing.

Theatre Level 4, Intro to Directing Honors - Our level 4 theatre class started off the year strong reviewing audition and callback etiquette to prepare them for the fall play and other future auditions. They will begin the Periodic Movement Unit, where they research and teach many different eras of theatre.

Stagecraft - The stagecraft students have been busy since day one planning the detailed set for our fall play, Antigone. This show takes place in the blackbox where they are preparing to transform the space, searching for the perfect costume pieces, planning out sound cues and lights, and even more! They are an extremely talented group of students with so many skills, and they are truly going to make the fall play come to life.
